Initial thought was, it’s very nice looking upon unboxing. Seems like it will be super easy to clean, and I am happy I opted for the stainless steel bowl!
Secondly, it was super easy to set up.
Took less than 10 minutes for unboxing, cleaning, loading, and app set up, although I had already downloaded the app and put in my kitten’s feeding schedule.
Please be advised:
The recommended gram amount was on point with what we have been feeding, but the measured estimate was inaccurate so it is important you test it out and measure how much you’re giving your pet. Love that you can give as little as 1/20 of a cup at a tome as I also feed wet food morning and night with dry and use small amounts of dry for snacks through out the day.
One small issue…
The only down side is that my 9 month old cat figured out how to serve herself food in less than 3 minutes after she was no longer a skeptical of the new gadget, before I took the stickers off the top… so my temporary fix is taping this medicine bottle cap over it until I can find something more aesthetically pleasing.
Even considering that hiccup I currently love it. Will update review in a few months to see if I feel the same.

We have completely eliminated the canned food, it was our vet who we don't like who wanted us to feed that. We have cats before these two and NEVER fed them canned food. they were just fine.
It has been MONTHS since the cats threw up because they were hungry. We weighed Zorro today and he was 20.2 lbs. Callie is the same. I will update this at 1 year where I expect Zorro to be another 4-5lbs down.
As far as operating this feeder it is easy. You simply monitor the messages you get on your phone. It will let you know several feedings before it has no more food. It also lets you know when to replace the dessicant in the lid (its the white bad of stuff that keeps the food from getting too moist and spoiling(its in a lot of packaging). search the comments for the right one to get.
the feeder has NEVER failed to feed our cats... I failed ONCE to add food when I needed to and they missed one meal. When we go away (albeit we only did this twice last summer to a remote family cabin which was covid safe) we set up a camera so we could verify the cats were getting fed when we were not there (crazy... why would that change??) and of course they were.
If you are having similar issues with your cats as we were...or if you just want to make their dry food feeding easier this is a SUPER device. I have zero reluctance in recommending it. In the end... it will probably be responsible for Zorro having a happier, healthier, and LONGER life..
CON - the only con I have is the app (and this a MINOR CON). It works... but it is frustrating. It was obviously created by people to whom English is a second language (good on them.... it is my ONLY language). This does cause some confusions but NOTHING that prevented me from using it. It did cause a few laughs on some things
This feeder was easy to setup. The removable hopper makes for easy cleaning. The bowl has a magnet inside so when it gets close to the feeder it snugs up nicely. The app is pretty easy to figure out. The only thing is the measurements they use are not standard 1/8 or 1/3. They use 1/20 1/10 3/20 and so on. Once you figure out it basically means every increase will drop approx. 5 grams of food. I say approximately because it is based on the size food you may use. It definitely is consistent amounts. You can go as low as 5g to 50g per feed. The Hopper holds 3.3 lbs(1497 Grams) of food. The feeder has a desiccant holder in the lid to help keep moisture under control in the hopper.
With the app you can only have one person per account using it. By this I mean you can't sign in on another phone with your sign in info. You can have another person create their own account and then you can share access to the device.
I did not give 5 stars because on my phone (Oneplus 6) the home screen extends to far down and gets into the phones back and home buttons. Cannot access some of the screens because of this.
I would definitely recommend this Feeder if you have a smaller animal or smaller feeding amounts. The next size up in the line only goes as low as 5/20 for a serving.

Customer service was notified about the app not displaying correctly on my phone and it is now fixed. Good response. Looking forward to getting one of their drinking fountains.
This was a must buy. Our orange kitty, Poe, wakes us up every morning at 5am for food so this was purely bought for this reason, but after having it, I can't imagine not having one ever again! Poe was scared of it at first, but he warmed up quickly. Our black kitty, Grimm, loved it from the moment we opened it (See picture/video of him we filmed right after we set it up). Only ONCE has Grimm ever stepped on the button that gives manual feed. Luckily he hasn't figured that out!
Set up and everything was easy peasy. I can't imagine someone would return it for "wifi issues"... The app itself is a little confusing at first (The English isn't 100% everywhere, but you can still understand what it means) once you get the hang of it, it's all good. Giving a snack wasn't easy to figure out, so I had to that search online.
You guys need to know though, their customer service was the BEST part of everything besides my two happy kitties. I contacted the company about a defect on the bowl (See picture 3) of my feeder and they sent me an ENTIRE feeder as replacement. I only expected a new, pretty bowl! They even refunded me the Black Friday discount because my order didn't go through when the servers were busy. They were so kind and helpful and they made me want to write this review just so everyone knows this is not only a fantastic product, but it is run by wonderful company. I'm so glad I now have two happy kitties that are always fed when we're not home and go RUNNING to their feeder when it's that time. Thank you!!

The PetKit Mini feeder is the ideal automatic feeder for my needs. What I like best is that it precisely delivers very small meals (as little as 1/20 of a cup or 5 grams) to my overweight cat up to 10 times per day. In my case I had been feeding my cat 20 grams of cat kibbles twice per day... or 40 grams. My cat was waking me up at 4 AM begging for more food. The PetKit Mini stopped the begging behavior! With the PetKit Mini I was able to schedule 8 feedings of 5 grams each... for a total of 40 grams per day... but spread out over the course of the day and night. This way my cat gets precisely fed her reduced ration and eliminates my tendency to give her a little extra when she begs.
The PetKit Mini has improved my cat's relationship with me. She no longer relies on me for food. With the PetKit Mini she visits me often and regularly because she wants my company... not because she wants food. And it has improved my relationship with my cat since I am no longer irritated by her pestering behaviors at 4 AM when she gets hungry.
The engineers who designed the PetKit Mini payed very close attention to critical details that separate this feeder from the pack. I studied them all before I made my purchase decision. The silicone rubber paddles that meter the kibbles into the rotary dosing cups are designed to flex so the kibbles don’t jam in the mechanism.
The engineers used silicone rubber gaskets to seal out moisture at the feeding door and food reservoir lid. Then they provide a replaceable desiccant pack (those little packs that you often find in a box of new shoes) that absorb any moisture that might otherwise accumulate in your dried food. You can imagine that if your kibbles absorbed moisture from the air and swelled up like a sponge that they wouldn’t feed well in the mechanism. It also keeps the food fresher and prevents mold growth I would think.
I found the PetKit Mini was easy to set up. It did help that I had an $8 electronic scale so I could better measure in grams how much I had been feeding my cat. I had been using a very small measuring cup. It was a lot easier to weigh the kibbles than to try to measure the volume of food.
I measured the amount of food the PetKit Mini delivered with each feeding. I did this 8 times just to see how repeatable the feedings were. With my dry kibbles the average amount of each feeding was 4.97 grams. Pretty good if you were targeting 5 grams! (The standard deviation was 0.31 grams… who remembers what a standard deviation is???)
Since I am only feeding my cat 40 grams per day the food reservoir is large enough for storing a 37 day supply. I can just check the food level once per month to be safe… but the PetKit Mini is designed with a monitor that will alert me when the food is low. What a great feature! It will also remind me every 30 days to replace the desiccant pack. I found some after-market desiccant packs on EBay that will fit the PetKit Mini because I couldn’t find any OEM packs online.
This is a great automatic WiFI cat feeder! I liked it so much I bought a second PetKit Mini for my daughter for Christmas. She too has an overweight cat (though not for long). She loves the PekKit Mini too!
Luckily, I found the PETKIT Mini. This was the smallest sized feeder I could find - both smart and non-smart. I wasn't particularly looking for WiFi capability, but I have to say: the novelty of feeding my cat from my phone has not yet worn off. WiFi setup and scheduling through the app is painless. The feeder dispenses the correct amounts and sends a notification when food is low. Feedings occur as scheduled, even with the internet offline and on battery power only.
Within 3 days, my extremely food-obsessed cat managed to take off the little round dispenser door. She can't get any food if she sticks her paws up the door. Countless times, I have come from work to find the feeder disconnected and in a completely different location in my apartment. She has never been able to weasel food out of this thing.
I won't go into too much detail, but I had been sharing my struggles with my cat's continued assault on the feeder with the manufacturer, and the manufacturer has been very helpful and responsive. Even though they are located in China, I have never waited more than a few hours to receive a response. Even though the damage to the feeder is my own cat's fault, their customer service has offered solutions that have gone above and beyond to keep me satisfied.
Some last thoughts:
- if you have a determined cat, the feeder should be in a corner where it can't get knocked over. I have another friend who has this feeder, and his cat has not even attempted to knock it over. I have it wedged between my couch, the wall and a lamp stand. See picture. Bottom shelf has since been replaced with old heavy textbooks. This has succeeded in stopping my cat from tipping it over.
- for future models, the round door should be flush with the front surface of the feeder. This way there is nothing for the cat to grab onto in any attempts to weasel extra food
